The Ellsworth American reports that Ellsworth High School has a new principal effective July 1, 2015, and he's no stranger to the High School. Dan Clifford, who is currently the principal of Bucksport High School was unanimously chosen as the next principal of Ellsworth High School by the School Board Tuesday afternoon.

He has been the principal at Bucksport for the last four year, and prior to that was the assistant principal and athletic director. Before going to Bucksport, Clifford was the assistant principal and athletic director at Sumner Memorial High School and athletic director for School Union 96 for one year.

When Dan Clifford taught at Ellsworth, he taught social studies for six years as well as children of migrant workers for three years.

Dan Clifford is married to April Clifford, the technology coordinator for the Ellsworth school system and together they have three children, Madison, Morgan and Kennedy.

Dan Clifford will take over from Bruce Lindberg who has been the interim principle for the 2014-15 school year.
