EHS’ Brown and Whitney Survive 1st Round of UMaine Cheerleader Cuts

Congratulations to Ellsworth High School's Anna Brown and Emma Whitney who survived the 1st round of cuts in their hopes to be a UMaine Black Bear Cheerleader in the fall of 2020.

According to Anna Brown "Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the tryout had to be done virtually. We to do a video that included a short bio, a dance that we had to learn, a sideline cheer and a combination of jump and tumbling skills. Because of the circumstances we could include videos from our previous season.

All together 40 girls tried out. The coach and a panel of judges judged the submitted video and we were scored by our level of difficulty. They cut 8 girls and now we will have an in person tryout in June. The final team will have 20 girls and 4 alternates"
