In the Battle of the Eagles, the Ellsworth Eagles' Softball Team defeated the GSA Softball Team 24-1 on Thursday, May 18th in Blue Hill.

Mackenzie Chipman pitched the 1st 3 inning for Ellsworth, throwing a shutout, allowing 0 hits, 0 walks and struck out 2. Sammy Mason threw the final 2 innings allowing 2 hits.

Katie Hammer went 3-3 with a RBI. Leah Stevens was 3-5 with a RBI. Katelynn Bagley was 3-5 with 3 RBIs. Hannah Sargent was 3-5 with 2 singles and a double and 3 RBIs. Mariah Young was 4-5 with 3 singles, a double and drove in 2 runs. Callie Hammer was 3-5 with 2 singles, a double and 5 RBIs while Ellie Clark was 3-5 with 2 singles, a double and a RBI.

Ellsworth is now 5-4. The Eagles will travel to Caribou on Saturday May 20th for a doubleheader with the Vikings at 12 and 2.

GSA is 0-9 and plays at Dexter on Friday, May 19th.
