Eagles Soar Over Hawks 54-37 [STATS&RECAP]

The Ellsworth Eagles used a 3-pointer at the buzzer at the Half, from three quarters of the length of the court by Hunter Curtis and a strong 3rd Quarter, to run past the Hermon Hawks 54-37 at Katsiaficas Gymnasiym in Ellsworth on Tuesday, February 9th.

Hermon took a 11-7 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Brady Reed and Wyatt Gogan each had 4 points for Hermon while Eli Reed had a 3-pointer. For Ellsworth Chance Mercier had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Hunter Curtis had 2 points.

In the 2nd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Hermon 14-5, to take a 21-16 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Michael Palmer had 4 points for Ellsworth. Chance Mercier and Hunter Curtis each had a 3-pointer and Brett Bragdon and Kaleb Connors each had 2 points. For Hermon, Eli Reed had 3 points and Brady Reed had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter Elsworth increased their lead, outscoring Hermon 23-9 to lead 44-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Chance Mercier had 9 points, including 6 points from steals and lay-ups. Hunter Curtis had 7 points, Michael Palmer had a 3-pointer and Miles Palmer and Eamon MacDonald each had 2 points. For Hermon, Eli Reed had 7 points with a 3-pointer and Jaykob Dow had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Eli Reed had 5 points to pace the Hawks, including a 3-pointer. Jaeden Henderson had a 3-pointer and Wyatt Gogan and Dow each had a bucket. For the Eagles, Hunter Curtis had 4 points, Michael Palmer had 3 points and Chance Mercier had 2 points.

Ellsworth was led by Chance Mercier with a game high 19 points. Hunter Curtis had 16 points and Michael Palmer had 11 points. The Eagles were 6-10 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Eli Reed with 18 points. The Hawks were 3-9 from the free throw line.
