Eagles Down Ponies 61-48 [Box Score/Recap]

The Ellsworth Eagle defeated the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 61-48 Monday night, February 5th in Dover-Foxcroft.

The Eagles jumped out to a 12- points, 8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Dylan Taplin and Jackson Curtis each had 5 points with a 3-pointer and Zach Harris 2 points for the Eagles. For the Ponies Jeremy Richard at all of Foxcroft Academy's 8 points.

The score was tied 12-12 when Ellsworth went on a 12 point run, hitting 4 3-pointers to take a 27-17 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Zach Harris had 2 3-pointers for 6 points, Bradly Smith and Darby Barry each buried a 3-pointer and Curtis had 3 points. For Foxcroft Academy Richard had 7 points, ending the 1st Half with 15 of the Ponies' 17 points. Hyatt Smith and Lucas Ames were each 1-2 from the free throw line.

In the 3rd Quarter Ellsworth outscored Foxcroft Academy 20-9 to lead 47-28 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Taplin had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Harris had 5 points, Curtis 4 points and Andrew McCullough and Jared Hamilton each had 2 points. For Foxcroft Academy Richard had 4 more points, Matt Spooner had a 3-pointer and Smith and Logan Martin had 2 points each.

In the 4th Quarter Harris had 4 points for Ellsworth, Javon Williams had 3 points, Smith had his 2nd 3-pointer, and Devin Grindle had 2 points.Norman Jodrey had his 1st Varsity Assist for the Eagles. For the Ponies, Martin had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Richard 4 points, Ames and Ryan Laffin each had a 3-pointer and Cameron Marsh and Josh Reed had 2 points each. Michael Niles was 1-2 from the free throw line.

Ellsworth was led by Zach Harris with 17 points. Jackson Curtis had 14 points and Dylan Taplin 12 points. The Eagles were 7-14 from the free throw line.

Foxcroft Academy was led by Jeremy Richard with a game high 23 points. the Ponies were 12-15 from the free throw line.
