
Eagles Beat Mariners 12-0 Move to Northern Maine Finals
The Ellsworth Eagles Baseball team beat the Oceanside Mariners 12-0 on Saturday, June 9th in one of the Class B Northern Maine Semifinals and will play Brewer on Wednesday, June 13th in the Class B Northern Maine Regional Finals at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor at 6:30 PM. Brewer defeated Gardiner 11-7 Saturday morning.

Matt Burnett the PVC Pitcher and Player of the Year was dominant on the mound for Ellsworth. He struck out 9 in 5 innings, and allowed just 4 hits. He didn't walk a batter. He struck out 6 in the first 2 innings.
Logan Sheridan and Ben Ripley each had a double and Maguire Leblanc and Michael Doherty had a single for Oceanside. Oceanside runners never reached 3rd base.
Ellsworth sent 9 batters to the plate in the 1st and 3rd innings. They scored 5 runs in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd and 3 runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. The Eagles had 11 hits off of 4 Mariner pitchers.
Every Eagle had at least 1 hit. Jack Lee had 2 singles, Jared Hamilton had a double and single, Sam Horne a single, Jackson Curtis a triple. Matt Burnett had a double, Austin Baron had a single. Devin Grindle had 2 singles and Tyler Mitchell had a single.
Brewer and Ellsworth played once earlier this season, with Ellsworth defeating Brewer 4-2 in Brewer on May 17th. Ellsworth enters the Regional Final with a 17-1 record and Brewer has a 13-5 record.
