Eagles Beat Lions 49-32 [Box Score/Recap/Stats]

The Ellsworth Eagles Girls Basketball Team beat the Belfast Lions on Monday, January 15th in Ellsworth, in a game originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 13th.

Ellsworth jumped out to a 17-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Trinity Montigny had 9 points with a 3-pointer, Katelynn Bagley had 5 points, and Samantha Carter had a 3-pointer. For Belfast Grace Fitzjurls and Kayci Faulkingham had 3 points each and Lilly Mitchell had 2 points.

Ellsworth increased their lead to 13 points at the end of the 1st Half, outscoring the Lions 13-9, to take a 30-17 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Carter had 5 points with a 3-pointer, Bagley had 4 points and Kylie Robidoux and Montigny had 2 points each for Ellsworth. For Belfast Payge Shute had a 3-pointer and Fitzjurls, Faulkingham and Macy Gale had 2 points each.

Ellsworth added to their lead in the 3rd Quarter, outscoring Belfast 12-7 to make the score 42-24 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Kayla Duhaime had 6 points for Ellsworth and Bagley, Carter adn Sara Shea chipped in 2 points each. For Belfast Faulkingham had 4 points, Fitjurls 2 points and Gale 1 point.

In the 4th Quarter Duhaime had 5 points for Ellsworth and Hannah Sargent chipped in 2 points. For Belfast Shute had a 3-pointer, Fitzjurls and Mitchell had 2 points and Karrajen Stone added a free throw.

Ellsworth had 4 players in double figures. Katelynn Bagley, Trinity Montigny and Kayla Duhaime each had 11 points and Samantha Carter had 10 points. The Eagles were 4-10 from the free throw line.

Belfast was led by Grace Fitjurls and Kayci Faulkingham with 9 points each. The Lions were 4-10 from the free throw line.
