DEFY 5/6 Girls A Team Defeats Old Town [PHOTOS]

The Down East Family YMCA Girls 5/6 A Team defeated Old Town Saturday afternoon in the finals of the Eastern Maine Basketball League. What made it extra special was that members of the Ellsworth High School Girl's Basketball Team were there behind their bench cheering them on!

DEFY led 16-10 at the end of the 1st Half and came away with the 47-28 win.

DEFY was led by Hilda Curtis with 14 points and Lily Bean had 8 points. Addison Athertson had 7 points, Sophia Lynch had 6 points, Elizabeth Boles 5 points and Savannah Edgecomb had 4 points. Anna Stevens had 2 points and Elice Sargent had 1 point. Not scoring but playing important roles on the court were Natalie Jengels and Emily King

For Old Town Taylor Loving had 10 points, Clair Gaetani had 5 points, Ava Brasslett had 4 points and Lily Mickel, Elizabeth Magoon, Lily Wotton and Emma Doucette each had 2 points. Ally Caron had 1 point and Mackenzie Fickett was scoreless.
