Garrett Crochet struck out 11 batters, carrying a no-hitter into the 8th inning and Trevor Story drove in 3 runs as the Red Sox beat the White Sox 3-1, on Sunday, in the final game of the 3-game series.

Crochet was brilliant allowing just 1 hit in 7.1 innings. He struck out 11 and walked just 1 against his former team, and improved to 2-1 on the season, lowering his ERA to 1.38.

Garrett Whitlock recorded the final 2 outs in the 8th inning allowing 1 hit and struck out 1. Aroldis Chapman picked up his 3rd save, striking out 2, including the final batter on a 101 mile per hour fastball.

Trevor Story drove in all 3 runs going 3 -4 with a pair of doubles and a solo home run in the 9th inning to give the Red Sox an insurance run. It was Story's 3rd homer of the season and the 1st Red Sox homer since last Sunday, April 6th.

Kristian Campbell had a single and now has hit in every game as a major leaguer.

Alex Bregman was 2-4.

Boston was 2-5 with runners in scoring position.

Boston is now 8-9 while Chicago is 4-11. The Red Sox open a 3-game series at Tampa Bay on Monday, April 14th. The pregame starts at 6:05 p.m. with the 1st pitch at 7:05 p.m. on WDEA AM 1370.

Prior to the game the Red Sox placed Richard Fitts on the 15-day injured list with a right pectoral strain and called up Michael Fulmer from Triple A.
