The Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 in 13 innings, in a game that ended just before midnight on Wednesday, May 22nd. The two teams will play the final game of the 4 game series Thursday afternoon with the pregame starting at 11:30 and 1st pitch at 12:37.

Chavis' homer was his 10th of the season, and came after Toronto had tied the score in the bottom of the 12th. In the 12th inning Mookie Betts hit his 8th homer. Earlier, Rafael Devers hit his 6th homer in the 8th inning.

Xander Bogaerts ended up with 3 hits, and Jackie Bradley Jr had a double.

Rick Porcello pitched 6 strong innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 run. He struck out 4. Heath Hembree picked up the vulture win, after allowing the tying run in the 12th.

Justin Smoak hit his 7th homer off of Matt Barnes in the 8th inning, Vlad Guerrero Jr. hit his 5th homer off of Porcello in the 4th inning and Rowdy Tellez hit his 9th homer off of Hembree in the 12th inning.

The Red Sox are 26-23 and remain in 3rd place, 5.5 games behind the 1st place New York Yankees.
