The Boston Red Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 7-3 Friday night as Ceddanne Rafaela hit 2 homers and drove in 5 runs, snapping their 2-game losing streak.

In the 4th inning Ceddanne hit a 3-run homer to give the Red Sox a 4-1 lead.

And he followed that up with a 2-run homer in his next-at-bat, in the 6th inning.

Tanner Houck evened his record to 5-5, lowering his ERA yo 1.85 going 7.0 innings and allowing 3 hits, and 1 run. He struck out 6 and walked 2. His ERA of 1.85 is the lowest by a Red Sox starter through 12 starts since Clay Buchholz had a ERA of 1.71 in 2013.

Rafael Devers was 1-4 and doubled in the 4th inning. That double was his 423rd career extra base hit, passing Jim Rice for the most in Red Sox history prior to turning 28.

David Hamiton was 3-4 with 3 singles. He stole 2nd in the 6th inning.

Connor Wong was 2-3 with a single and double.

Rob Refsnyder was 1-4 with a double in the 5th inning.

Boston is now 29-29 while Detroit is 28-29. The 2 teams will play the 3rd game of the 4-game series on Saturday afternoon. The pregame starts at 3:10 with the 1st pitch at 4:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
