Caribou Boys Beat Ellsworth 58-57 on Last Second Basket [STATS]

The Caribou Boy's Basketball Team beat Ellsworth 58-57 on a basket by Landen Belanger with 2 seconds left to play on Saturday, December 6th in the opening game of the 2025-26 season for the two teams.

Caribou raced out to a 16-8 lead int he 1st Quarter as Carsen Richards drained 3 3-pointers. Ellsworth outscored Caribou 13-7 in the 2nd Period to draw within 2 points at the end of the 1st Half 23-21. The Eagles took the lead in the 3rd Period and led 42-40. The Eagles looked to be seizing momentum before Dawson Curtis was whistled for a technical foul. Curtis didn't return to the game after the call.

Ellsworth was led by Evan Haskell who had 16 points and 4 3-pointers, including 3 in the 4th Quarter. Eli Holler had 13 points. Coly Eaton had 1 3-pointer. The Eagles were 8-11 from the free throw line.

Caribou was led by Carsen Richards with a game-high 19 points, including the 3 3-pointes. Landen Belanger had 14 points with a 3-pointer. The Vikings were 11-18 from the free throw line.
