Bucksport Nips Hermon 40-39 for 1st Win of the Season [STATS]

The Bucksport Golden Bucks Boys Basketball Team nipped Hermon 40-39 for their 1st win of the season on Saturday afternoon, December 28th in Bucksport.

After Hermon led 14-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter, Bucksport used a 21-2 2nd Quarter to take a 27-16 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Bucksport led 33-28 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Quarter Hermon was 5-9 from the free thro line while Bucksport was 1-7 but Bucksport had just enough to hang on for the win.

Collin McDougal from Bucksport had a game-high 22 points including 4 3-pointers. He scored 13 of his points in the 2nd Quarter. Jack Morrison had 7 points including a 3-pointer. Peyton Gray had a 3-pointer. The Golden Bucks were 6-13 from the free throw line.

Hermon was led by Maddox Kinney with 13 points. Brody Hurd had 13 points. Carter Wiggin and Mason Kinney each had a 3-pointer. Hermon was 5-11 from the free throw line.

Bucksport is now 1-4. They will host MDI on Monday, December 30th at 2:30 p.m That game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 beginning at 2:15 with the pregame. The game will also be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio, on WDEA's free downloadable APP and on any Alexa enabled device.

Hermon is 4-2 and will host Orono on Tuesday, December 31st at 12:30 p.m.
