Bucksport Golden Bucks Softball Team Defeats Ellsworth 8-1 [PHOTOS]

The Bucksport Golden Bucks Softball Team beat Ellsworth 8-1 on Wednesday, April 23rd in the team's mutual season opener in Ellsworth.

Natalie Simpson pitched a complete game for Bucksport. She struck out 10, walking 2 and allowed 4 hits and 1 unearned run to pick up the win.

Jetta Shook was 2-3 with a double and drove in 3 runs for Bucksport. Addison Harvey playing in her 1st Varsity game was 2-4 with a double. Layken Varnum and Simpson each had a double. Marina Keene and Alivia Shute each singled. Raymond stole 2 bases and Shook stole 1 bag.

For Ellsworth Anna Stevens was in the circle and pitched the complete game. She allowed 9 hits and 8 runs, 7 of which were earned. She struck out 5 and walked 4.

Jayden Sullivan was 2-2 for the Eagles, with a double. Jovi Nightingale and Lily Alley each had a single for Ellsworth.

Ellsworth is 0-1. They will host Old Town on Friday, April 25th at 1 p.m. Bucksport, now 1-0 will host Orono on Friday, April 25th at 1 p.m.
