The Bucksport Girl's Basketball Team beat Sumner on Saturday, January 4th, 62-53 as Jetta Shook had a game-high 29 points.

Bucksport led 17-11 at the end of the 1st Quarter and led 27-23 at the end of the 1st Half. The Lady Golden Bucks outscored Sumner 17-10 in the 3rd Quarter to lead by 11 at the end of the 3rd Quarter 44-33.

Bucksport had 3 players in double-figures. Shook had 29 points. Makayla Miller had 17 points including 2 3-pointers and Alvah Tweedie had 12 points. Bucksport was 8-11 from the free throw line.

Sumner was led by Callie Chase and Abby Billings who each had 14 points. Bristoll Parritt had 12 points. Chase had 2 3-pointers. Ella Colby, Gabby Merchant and Parritt each had a 3-pointer. Sumner was 8-17 from the free throw line.

Sumner is now 5-3. The Lady Tigers will travel to Searsport to play the Vikings on Monday, January 6th at 6:30 p.m.

Bucksport is now 5-2. They will play at Dexter on Tuesday, January 7th at 6:30 p.m.
