Brewer Shutouts Ellsworth 5-0 in Softball

The Brewer Softball Team shutout the Ellsworth Eagles in Brewer Thursday night, May 17th, winning 5-0.

Mackenzie Chipman pitched the entire game for Ellsworth. She allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs. She struck out 2 and walked 3.

MJ Sellars had a home run for Brewer. Olivia Cattan had a double. Jordan Guoorh, Libby Hewes, Kathryn Austin, Emily Loro, Jayden Keefe and Sarah Kiely each had a single for the Witches. Brewer stole 6 bases with Guoorh, Hewes, Becca Giden, Austing, Keefe and Kiely each swiping a bag.

Libby Hewes pitched a complete game for the win for Brewer. She allowed 6 hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out 8.

Sara Shea, Katie Hammer, Hannah Sargent, Mariah Young, Mara Pickering and Shelby Cote each had a single for the Eagles. Shea had 2 stolen bases.

Ellsworth 4-6 plays at Old Town on Friday, May 18th at 4:30 and then hosts Old Town on Saturday at 12 Noon.

Brewer, 11-0 plays host to MCI on Saturday, May 19th at 1PM.
