Brewer Boys Defeat MDI 78-48 in Preseason Scrimmage [STATS & PHOTOS]

The Brewer Boy's Basketball Team defeated MDI 78-48 in a preseason scrimmage on Thursday, December 1st in Brewer.

Brewer jumped out to a 25-14 at the end of the 1st Quarter. MDI outscored Brewer 18-13 to cut Brewer's lead to 38-32 at the end of the 1st Half. Brewer outscored MDI in the 3rd Quarter 22-9 to lead 60-41 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

Brewer had 3 players in double figures. Brady Saunders led the way for the Witches with a game-high 23 points. Both Brock Flagg and Ryder Goodwin each had 14 points. The Witches had 7 3-pointers. Saunders had 3 3's, and Owen Fullerton, Cameron Hughes, Evan Nadeau and Steven Young each had 1 3-pointer. The Witches were 9-16 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Kaden Reed, Cal Hodgdon and Alex Gray, all of whom ended up with 8 points. The Trojans had 4 3-pointers on the night. Reed had 2 3-pointers and Ethan Sosa and Jarron Beihert each had 1 3-pointer. MDI was 0-2 from the free throw line.

Brewer will play in the Smokey Lawrence Memorial Tourney on Saturday. They open the regular season on Friday December 9th at Skowhegan at 6:30 p.m.

MDI will host GSA on Saturday, December 3rd at 2 p.m. in a scrimmage. They open the regular season on Saturday, December 10th against John Bapst at 4:30 p.m.
