How Did Adley Rutschman Make His Mark On The Red Sox Game?

The Boston Red Sox swatted 2 home runs on Tuesday, August 18th and beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-4 at Fenway Park.

Adley Rutschman hit his 1st homer as a Red Sox, a solo home run in the 6th inning, his 9th of the season and ended the night 2-4 with 3 runs batted in, including a 2-run single in the 1st inning as Boston took an early 3-0 lead.

Mickey Gaspar reached base 4 times, going 2-2 with a solo homer, his 2nd of the season, and his 2nd in as many days. He also had a RBI single in the 7th inning and walked twice.

Willson Contreras was 2-4 with a double and run batted in.

Andruw Monasterio was 2-4 with a pair of RBI singles. He has reached base safely in 26 of his last 30 games since July 11th.

Nick Sogard was 2-3 scoring twice.

Ranger Suarez picked up the win and is now 5-3. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing 4 hits and 4 runs, striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed a grand slam to Gabriel Moreno in the 3rd inning.

Boston received good and bad news with their injured players. Masataka Yoshida could possibly be out for the rest of the regular season as his hamstring injury appears worse than expected. The good news is that Roman Anthony in a rehab start at Portland with the Sea Dogs was 2-2 with a home run, and walked twice. Garret Whitlock and Justin Slaten both had MRIs of their elbows and the results showed no structural damage.
