Contreras and Suarez Lead Red Sox to 7-1 Win Over Cardinals [VIDEO]

Wilson Contreras drove in 3 runs against his former team and Ranger Suarez pitched 6 shutout innings as the Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-1 on Saturday night, April 11th.

The game was 2-1 before the Red Sox exploded for 5 runs in the 9th inning.

Contreras was 2-4 with a double, driving in 2 runs in the 4th inning.

Caleb Durbin, hitting out of the 2-hole was 1-5 with a 2-run single in the 9th inning.

Jarren Duran was 2-5 with a run batted in, and Carlos Narvaez was 2-4.

Boston banged out 10 hits. They grounded into 2 double plays.

Ranger Suarez was dominant on the mound, picking up his first win of the season. He's 1-1 after striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed just 3 hits.

Greg Weissert, Danny Couloumbe, Garrett Whitlock and Ryan Watson combined to pitch the final 3 innings. Whitlock allowed a homer in the 8th.
