Starting pitching continued to be a problem Brayan Bello lasted just 3.1 innings and allowed 5 hits and 4 runs, walking 4 and striking out 5. Boston's starters have pitched fewer than 5.0 in 6 of their first 10 games, toed for the most through 10 games in franchise history.

Danny Coulombe got out of the 4th inning and a bases loaded jam, getting a double play. He allowed 2 hits and walked 1. Jovani Moran pitched 3.0 innings allowing 1 hit and a run, striking out 4 and walking 1. Garrett Whitlock reinstated from the paternity list took the loss pitching the 8th inning allowing 1 hit and 2 runs, walking 2 and striking out 2. Ryan Watson pitched the 9th inning allowing 2 hits and a run.

Willson Contreras was 3-3 with a double and home run, reaching base 5 times as he was hit by a pitch and walked. He drove in 2 runs and his homer, his 2nd was a solo shot in the 9th inning with 2 out.

Roman Anthony was 2-5 with a double, scoring a pair of runs.

Caleb Durbin was 2-4 with a double. He has hits in 3 of his last 4 games after starting the season 0-19.

Trevor Story was 1-4 and drove in a pair of runs.
