The Boston Red Sox fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 on Mother's Day, May 10th at Fenway Park.

Payton Tolle started for Boston and went 5.0 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs, striking out 3. He took the loss and is now 1-2.

Justin Slaten reinstated from the injured list pitched a hitless inning in relief, striking out 1.

Mickey Gasper was 3-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in a run. It was his 1st hit in Fenway Park, after going 0-18 at the plate at Fenway in 2024 when he debuted in the majors.

Willlson Contreros was hit in the right hand in the 1st inning at bat, and left the game with a right hand contusion. X-rays after the game were negative.

Andruw Monasterio who played 1st in place of Contreros was 2-3 with a double.

Boston is now 17-23 while Tampa Bay is 26-13.

Boston is off on Monday, They open a 3-game series at home with the Philadelphia Phillies starting on Tuesday, with the pregame beginning at 5:45 on WDEA AM 1370.
