The Boston Red Sox managed just 4 hits, falling to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 on Monday, June 8th, in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Boston's lone run came off the bat of Marcello Mayer who hit his 3rd homer of the season, a solo shot in the 3rd inning.

Ceddanne Rafaela, Wilyer Abreu and Mickey Gasper each had a single.

Boston struck out 10 times

Connolly Early took the loss for Boston and is now 5-4. He went 4.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 runs, He struck out 6 but walked 4.
