Red Sox Lose to Padres 3-2 in 9th Inning [VIDEO]

The Boston Red Sox lost to the San Diego Padres 3-2 on Saturday afternoon, as the Padres scored the winning run off of closer Aroldis Chapman. Boston has lost 6 of their first 8 games for the 1st time since 2019.

Boston's offense which is scuffling was held to 2 or fewer runs for the 4th time this season. Boston was 0-5 with runners in scoring position and entering the game they were just 11-49 with runners in scoring position.

Connolly Early started for the Red Sox and went 4.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 2 runs. He walked and struck out 4.He threw 88 pitches.

Ryan Watson went 1.1 innings allowing just a hit while striking out and walking 1. Drew Coulombe retired 2 batters, striking out 1.
