The Boston Red Sox lost to the Cleveland Guardians 4-3 on Friday night, May 29th in Cleveland.

Trying to protect Brayan Bello the Red Sox sent out Tyler Samaniego as the opener and that failed miserably, as Samaniergo allowed 6 hits and 4 runs, all earned in the 1st tinning, striking out 2. Taking the loss he's now 0-3.

Bello came on and pitched the rest of the game, holding the Guardians to just 4 hits. He struck out 5 and didn't walk a batter.

Boston scored all of their runs in the 5th inning.

Marcelo Mayer was 2-4 with a run batted in. Caleb Durbin had a double, scoring a run. Jarren Duran was 1-4 with a sacrifice fly scoring a run.

Willson Contreras continued his hitting streak, going 2-4. Mickey Gaspar was 2-4 with a double. Masataka Yoshida had a single. Isiah Kiner-Falefa was 2-4.

Boston is now 23-33 and Cleveland is 34-25. The 2 teams will play Saturday afternoon, May 30th with the pregame starting at 3:10 and 1st pitch at 4:10 on WDEA AM 1370.
