Boston Loses to Atlanta 8-7 in 11th Inning on 2 Run Walk-Off Homer [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox lost to the Atlanta Braves 8-7 on Friday night, September 25th as Freddie Freeman hit a pinch-hit 2 run walk-off homer in the 11th inning off of Jefferey Springs
Springs came on in the 10th inning and allowed the tying and winning runs, giving up 4 runs on 3 hits.
Chris Mazza started for the Boston Red Sox and pitched well, despite giving up a lead-off home run to Ronald Acuna Jr. That hit was the longest homer of the 2020 season according to stat-cast, a drive that went 495 feet. Mazza went 5 innings allowing just that 1 run, on 4 hits and striking out 6 while walking 2.
Darwinzon Hernandez and Ryan Weber each threw a shutout inning, before Ryan Brasier allowed 3 runs in the 8th inning. Matt Barnes pitched a scoreless 9th inning before Springs came on for the 10th and 11th.
