The Mount Desert Island Marathon’s Board of Directors announced that they have made $75,000 in gifts to 38 local groups and organizations from the Beyond the Finish Line charitable fund.

Founded in 2002, it has always been the vision of the race to leave more than footprints in the communities where it runs, and to take the impact of the event 'beyond the finish line'.

It was another record year for the race’s charity bib program, which, since 2010, has sought to challenge participants to fulfill a nominal fundraising commitment in exchange for the opportunity to run after general registration has reached capacity.  The Beyond the Finish Line charitable fund receives 100% of the proceeds from the charity bib program, ensuring maximum impact on our local community.

35 Bands That Share Their Name With The Song of Another Band
