Battered Red Sox Make Roster Moves

Prior to what seems like a must win series with the Tampa Bay Rays, the Boston Red Sox make a series of roster moves to strengthen their defense and hopefully provide a spark to their offense.

The Red Sox made the following moves

•  Infielder Eduardo Núñez was placed on the 10-day injured list with a mid-back strain, retroactive to April 18.

• Right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramírez was designated for assignment.

• Infielders Tzu-Wei Lin and Michael Chavis were recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket. Chavis will wear number 23.

On Thursday April 18th the Red Sox placed Dustin Pedroia on the 10-day injured list with left knee inflammation and recalled right handed pitcher Marcus Walden.

The Boston Red Sox open a 3 game series in Florida against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night with the pregame starting at 5:10 and first pitch at 6:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
