Crews from the Bar Harbor Water District worked throughout the night, finally leaving at 6AM on Thursday, June 14th after dealing with not 1 or 2 but 4 water line breaks on Wednesday June 13th. Crews from the Water District were assisted by crews from Sargent Corporation and The Maine Department of Transportation.

I spoke to Public Works Director Chip Reeves Thursday morning, who told me that the water is potable, and there is no concern with the quality of the water. Homeowners and businesses may notice air in the lines and some "milkiness" of the water, but he advises to let the faucets run, and that this should clear up.
