Bar Harbor Town Council Votes Unanimously to NOT Enact Emergency Moratorium on Non-Hosted Vacation Rentals
The Bar Harbor Town Council met on Tuesday, April 2nd and had a long discussion regarding the possible enactment of an emergency moratorium on non-hosted vacation rentals. After hearing from the public, the Council voted unanimously NOT to enact the moratorium.
The discussion was prompted by the concern that more houses were being purchased and turned exclusively into non-hosted vacation rentals, resulting in the the loss of affordable housing on the Island.
