The Bar Harbor Police Department has announced a rolling overnight Parking Ban that will be in place January 27-30, as certain areas in downtown Bar Harbor will be targeted for snow removal by the Bar Harbor Highway Department.

Because of the large snowfall, snow will need to be removed on all downtown streets over the course of the next three days ending on Friday morning, January 30th.
The Highway department has divided the down streets into 3 zones and will conduct operations in a different zone each night as follows:
 (Zone 1 - Downtown Main Streets) No Parking from Tuesday, January 27 from  10p.m.  to Wednesday morning January 28th at 8 a.m. 
  • Cottage Street
  • Main Street
  • West Street
  • Mount Desert Street
  • Ledgelawn Avenue
(Zone 2 - Downtown Side Streets) No Parking from Wednesday, January 28th from 1-10 p.m. to Thursday, January 29th at 8 a.m. 
  • School StreetPleasant Street
  • First South Street
  • Newton Way
  • Edgewood Street
  • Ash Street
  • Cedar Avenue
  • Westcott Avenue
  • Des Isle Avenue
  • High Street
  • Roberts Avenue
  • Kennebec Street
  • Bridge Street
  • Rodick Street
 (Zone 3 and Cleanup) No Parking from Thursday, January 29th at 10 p.m. to Friay, January 30th at 8 a.m.

All public parking lots are available for overnight parking during the ban. If your vehicle is parked on one of the above identified streets during the designated snow removal day and time it will be towed at your expense.
