Bar Harbor Town Council appointment policy is viewable at: Town Council Policies, Appointment Policy.
Applications are accepted until the membership is full, except the (re) appointments annually in July.
All appointed and re-appointed members must be sworn in by the Town Clerk's office prior to participating in any meeting.
In addition, the Town of Bar Harbor requires all members participate in taking the online Ethics Ordinance training. The training is a brief list of multiple choice questions on the Ethics Ordinance to assist members in determining if a member has a conflict of interest in accordance with State statute and Town Code, if the question should arise by the board or public.
