The Bar Harbor Food Pantry has an urgent need for jars of peanut butter and boxes of cereal to help feed those in need.

Normally the Pantry is able to purchase these items at a greatly reduced cost but supply chain issues have limited their availability.

People can donate these items as well as other items at the Bar Harbor Food Pantry located at 836 Mount Desert Street during their open hours, 9 a.m - 2 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday or 9 a.m to 12 noon on Fridays. Items may also be dropped off at the drop box at the Bar Harbor Hannaford on Cottage Street or in the foyer of the YWCA of Bar Harbor located at 36 Mount Desert Street. Please make sure that all items dropped off are not expired.

The Bar Harbor Food Pantry invites the community to stop by on Fridays from 9 a.m to 12 Noon for Fresh Food Fridays. The public is invited to pick up fresh produce and milk. You do not have to be a food pantry client to take advantage. It's just the Pantry's way of insuring that all food is used and not wasted and give back to those who support them.

Thank you in advance for helping to feed those in need in our community
