Bangor JV Girls Too Much For MDI 64-22 [STATS]

The Bangor JV Girls Basketball Team was too much for the MDI JV Girls Friday night, January 29th, as the Rams beat the Trojans 64-22 in the home opener for MDI.

MDI hung in through the 1st Quarter, as the Rams led 17-9. Taylor King had 8 points for Bangor, Kaylee Horr had 5 points, including a 3-pointer, while Samantha Erb and Cassidy Richardson each had 2 points. For MDI Mallory Dunbar had 3 points, Sophia Thurston and Sharyn Lipski each 2 points and Brooke Goff Perrault and Olivia Pratt each had a free throw.

Bangor put the game away in the 2nd Quarter, outscoring MDI 17-2 to take a 34-11 lead at the end of the 1st Half. Samantha Erb had 8 point, Emma Westrich had 5 points including a 3-pointer and Kaylee Horr and Taylor King each had 2 points. For MDI their lone points came from the free throw line as Mallory Dunbar and Sophia Thurston each sank a free throw.

In the 3rd Quarter Bangor outscored MDI 16-5 to take a 50-16 lead at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Taylor King had 6 points for Bangor, while Erb had 4, Jaye Thomas and Emma Westrich 2 eah and Kaylee Horr chipped in 2 points from the free throw line. For MDI Brooke Goff-Perrault had a 3-pointer and Emma Simard had 2 points.

In the 4th Quarter Bangor outscored MDI 14-6. Cassidy Richardson and Samantha Erb eah had 4 points for the Rams. Kaylee Horr had 3 points , Taylor King 2 points and allie Tennett was 1-2 from the free throw line. For MDI Soren Hopkins-Goff, and Brooke Goff Perrault each had 2 points while Emma Simard was 2-2 from the free throw line.

Bangor was led by Samantha Erb and Taylor King who each finished with 18 points. Bangor was 4-8 from the free throw line.

MDI was led by Brooke Goff-Perrault with 6 points, while Emma Simard and Mallory Dunbar each had 4 points. MDI was 9-20 from the free throw line

MDI is now 0-3. The Trojans were scheduled to host Hampden on Tuesday, February 2nd, but that game has been moved to Monday, February 1st at 4 p.m. because of the impending storm. That game will be broadcast on the MDI NFHS Page (subscription required)
