It took 161 games, but finally the Boston Red Sox are the 2017 AL East Champions, after defeating the Houston Astros on Saturday, September 30th 6-3. The Red Sox now own a 2 game lead over the New York Yankees with 1 game left to play.

Drew Pomeranz picked up his 17th win of the season, pitching 6 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run while striking out  3 and walking 2.

David Price pitched 1 inning striking out 2 and walking 1. Addison Reed pitched the 8th and Craig Kimbrel pitched the 9th inning.

Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland each hit a double and Mookie Betts hit his 24th homer, a solo shot. Brock Holt was 2-4.

The Red Sox and Astros play the final regular season game on Sunday, October 1st with the pregame starting at 2:20 and first pitch at 3:05 at AM 1370 WDEA.

The Red Sox and Astros will meet in the American League Division Series. Times are still to be determined and all games will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA.
