Ashmore Brothers Victorious As They Represent Maine On HGTV
Earlier this spring, we told you all about a pair of brothers from Hancock County who were set to take to the small screen on the latest season of the HGTV series Battle On The Beach.
Fred Ashmore from Hanock, known by most as the guy who set the Cannonball Run record in a rented Mustang in 2020, took part in the first season of the show.
When he got invited back, he knew exactly who he wanted to bring with him to up the chances that his team would win this season; his brother Arthur, an electrician from Lamoine.
Together the brothers ventured to Texas, to show the world how we do it here in Maine:
You need the impossible done in little to no time with a minimal budget, and it's going to be featured on TV and judged by design geniuses from HGTV?
Here, hold my beer.
The Ashmore brothers were teamed up with Alison Victoria, host of HGTV's Windy City Rehab, to renovate one of 3 identical houses on the beach.
They were part of Team Canada. Their budget was $80,000, and they were competing with two other teams fronted by HGTV all-stars, Ty Pennington and Taniya Nayak. This season's judges were Brian & Sarah Baeulmer from Renovation Island.
The world found out during Sunday night's Season Finale, that Team Canada, Alison's team, won the competition!
Both Fred and Arthur Ashmore had a hand in leading Team Canada to the heights of victory.
We spoke with Fred the day after the big reveal and this is what he had to say.
Fred says he got a kick out of representing Maine, up against the big dogs in the industry.
But he said having his brother there with him, and working side by side through the challenges took this win and put it on another level.
Congratulations, Ashmore brothers, for a job well done. Way to represent.
