According to Principal Haney, Angela earned this year's MPA Principal’s Award through a rare combination of academic rigor and civic leadership. With a 3.96 GPA earned while balancing 15 Honors/AP classes and seven early college courses, her academic drive is matched only by her dedication to her community. From her work on the Anti-Racism Task Force and Mock Trial to her status as a state finalist for the United States Youth Senate Program, Angela has consistently used her voice to lead. An officer in both the National and Art Honor Societies and a three-season athlete, she exemplifies the spirit of a versatile and engaged student leader.

Principal Haney said

"The MPA Principal’s Award is reserved for students who represent the 'total package' of scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Angela has not only met that standard—she has raised it. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing the impact she will undoubtedly make in the world beyond our Island community.”

Angela and Principal Haney, along with other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.
