Actress Verna Bloom, Starred In Animal House, Dies In Bar Harbor

The actress was well known for playing the cheating wife of Dean Wormer in the film Animal House.

Verna Bloom, who played Marion Wormer in the iconic 1978 John Landis film, also starred as Clint Eastwood's wife in High Plains Drifter, and various other roles, has died in Bar Harbor at the age of 80.

Bloom was born in Massachusetts, and leaves behind a son and husband Jack Cocks, a two-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter and film critic.
