Acadians Win Northeast Regionals 6-1 Head to American Legion World Series
The Trenton Acadians beat Coffey Post 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in Worcester Massachusetts to win the Northeast Senior Legion Regionals and will head to the Shelby, North Carolina to play in the 96th American Legion World Series, August 10th-15th.
The Acadians were 4-1 in Regional play, and defeated Coffey Post twice. Coffey Post advanced to the finals by beating Greece Post earlier in the day.
Hunter Curtis picked up the win for the Acadians. He pitched a complete game allowing just 3 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 2.
Trenton scored 1 run in the 3rd inning, and 2 in the 4th inning. They iced the game with 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning.
David Baugh went 3-4 with a pair of double. Dawson Curtis and Joey Wellman-Cluse each had 2 singles and drove in a run. Brett Bragdon had 2 hits and drove in a run.
Colin Sullivan and Miles Palmer each had a single.
Baugh and Dawson Curtis each stole a base.
