While Juniors took SAT's on Tuesday, April 9th, Freshman and Sophomores at MDI High School celebrated Social Responsibility Day. The school welcomed staff from the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor for part of the day.

Students attended a screening of Dawnland, a documentary detailing the relationship between Wabanaki children and Maine's fostercare system. After the screening, Abbe Museum Educators Starr Kelly (Curator of Education), and Angela Raup (Manager of Guest Experience), facilitateed a discussion panel featuring Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap, Doctor Mishy Lesser of the Upstander Project, Dawn Neptune Adams, Penobscot (featured in the film), and Maria Girouard, Penobscot, of REACH.

Panelists answered a selection of questions the students drafted during their advisories, and there was additional time for an open question and answer period
