The #9 Caribou Vikings beat #8 MDI 8-6 in a Class B Prelim Game on a drizzly, dreary Tuesday, in Bar Harbor.

The wet grass made it difficult for the pitchers and fielders to get a good grip on the ball throughout the game.

Spencer Grierson started on the mound for MDI, but lasted just 1.2 innings, as he allowed 4 hits and 3 runs, striking out and walking 1. Preston Tripp came on and pitched the final 5.1 innings, allowing 7 hits and 5 runs, 1 of which was earned. He struck out 5 and walked 1.

Brayden Brescia started on the mound for the Vikings. He went 4.2 innings allowing 6 hits and 6 runs, 5 of which were earned. He struck out 8 and walked 4. Dawson St. Pierre picked up the win and went 2.1 innings, allowing 3 hits and struck out 4 while walking 1.

Caribou led 4-2 at the end of the 3rd inning. The game was tied at 6-6 at the end of the 5th inning, with Caribou adding the winning run in the 6th inning and an insurance run in the 7th inning.

Ales Roos, Mason Lapointe and Ben Ingram each had a pair of hits for the Trojans. Cameron Graham and Alister Frongillo each singled.

Graham and Sullivan each had a stolen base.

For the Vikings Brayden Brescia and Bryce Dillon each had a pair of hits, including a double. Brescia drove in 2 runs. Nic Plourde had a pair of singles. Matt Pelletier, Dawson St. Pierre and Chandler St. Peter each singled.

Caribou stole 11 bases. Brescia had 3 steals. Timmy Danse stole a pair of bases. Dillon, Carter St. Pierre, Dawson St. Pierre, Edison Sleeper, Matt Pelletier and Nic Plourde each had a stolen base.

MDI finishes the season at 6-11.

Caribou, now 10-7 will take on #1 Cony (14-2) on Thursday, June 12th in the Class B North Quarterfinals.
