7 Run 8th! Red Sox Beat the White Sox 9-2 Sunday [VIDEO]
The Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox were tied 2-2 after 7 innings in Chicago on Sunday, May 5th. But the Red Sox exploded for 7 runs, led by Xander Bogaerts grand slam and the Red Sox won 9-2.
The grand slam was Bogaerts 6th homer of the year.
Michael Chavis was held hitless, but he walked twice and scored once.
Mitch Moreland was 2-3 and Rafael Devers had a double.
Rick Porcello pitched well, throwing 6.0 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 of those homers. He struck out 7 but ended up with a no-decision. Brian Workman picked up the win and is now 2-1.
The Red Sox have now won 6 of their last 7 games and 8 of their last 11 games. They are now 17-18 and in 3rd place, 5.0 games behind the 1st place Tampa Bay Rays.
