#5 MDI Beats #4 Ellsworth 8-6 in Class B North Quarterfinal [PHOTOS]

The #5 MDI Trojans beat the #4 Ellsworth Eagles 8-6 on Thursday afternoon, June 12 in a Class B North Quarterfinal.

MDI led 4-1 at the end of 4 innings, and then the game was tied in the 5th inning at 5-5 at the end of 5 innings. The Trojans led 7-6 at the end of the 6th inning before adding an insurance run in the 7th inning.

Taylor Grant picked up the win for the Trojans. She pitched a complete game allowing 8 hits and 6 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 7 and walked 4.

Anna Stevens started in the circle for Ellsworth. She went 4.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 4 and walked 3. Kaylee Bagley took the loss, pitching the final 3.0 innings, allowing 4 runs and 4 runs, 2 of which were earned. She struck out 4 and walked 3.

MDI committed 5 errors, while Ellsworth committed 3 errors.

Ella Watson, leading off for MDI was 3-3, scoring 2 runs and stealing 2 bases.
