Washington County Community College to Field Women’s Basketball Team for 2024-25 Season

Do you want to play Women's Basketball in College? Washington County Community College in Calais wants to talk to you!

The Golden Eagles will be fielding a Women's Basketball Team for the first time since 1994. They started the Men's Team in the 2023-24 Season.

The Men's and Women's Teams are coached by Troy Alley who is the Director of Athletics and Campus Engagement. Alley was the Coach of the University Maine-Machias Teams (Men's and Women's) from 2015-20, when UMM stopped offering athletics because of budgetary reason. He has been the Searsport Boy's Basketball Coach 2021-23.

The Men's and Women's Teams are members of the USCAA and have applied for entrance to the Yankee Small College Conference. The Men played a 27 game schedule this past year, and both teams will play 27 games in 2024-25.

The Men were 14-7 last year with 6 exhibition games. Last year the Men played 21 games on the road.
