The world changed on this day, August 1st 1981. Not just the music world, but the entire world. That was the day that MTV premiered in 2.1 million homes. Back then MTV stood for Music Televsion and had a combination of videos, news and game shows. The first video, The Buggles "Video Killed the Radio Star"
