It's a new month, and there's lots happening at The Grand in Ellsworth!

Wednesday afternoon March 2nd there's the matinee showing of the Cinegrand Movie, "Room". Sunday March 6th at 2 PM, in conjunction with the Ellsworth American it's "Ghosts of the Grand". Tuesday night March 8th and Wednesday afternoon March 9th there's the Cinegrand Movie "Youth".

Saturday March 12th get ready for St. Patrick's Day with “The Easter Rising of 1916” which will highlight the historic events with rebel music performed by the Acadia School of Traditional Music and Arts along with actual movie footage of the aftermath of the rebellion. This is a Grand Fundraiser event and Jasper’s Restaurant will offer a selection of Irish beers for sale.

Then on Saturday March 19th, mark your calendars for the Internet Cat Video Festival with showtimes of 3 PM and 7 PM! The Cats are coming! The Walker Art Center’s wildly popular Internet Cat Video Festival is headed to The Grand. If you’re a cat lover, you won’t want to miss this presentation. Featuring a new selection of videos curated by Will Braden, the creator of the Henri Le Chat Noir videos and recipient of the festival’s first Golden Kitty (People’s Choice) Award. Film critic Roger Ebert called Henri 2, Paw De Deux “the best Internet cat video ever made.” The new reel will feature approximately 100 cat videos culled from nominations by the public in the categories of Comedy, Drama, Animated, Musical, Action, Vintage, and Documentary.
