Power Outage

Emera Maine linecrews are out working hard to restore power after the windstorm on Friday, October 18th. As of 12 Noon there were still 11,437 customers without power, with the vast majority in Hancock and Washington Counties.

Much progress has been made in restoring power, but there are still 13,295 Emera Maine customers without power as of 5:30 AM on Friday, October 18th, with 10,068 in Hancock County and 2,269 in Washington County.

As of 9 PM on Thursday, there are still 13,322 Emera Maine customers without power as a result of the windstorm, that saw a maximum gust of 63 miles per hour recorded in Bar Harbor. Of the 13,322 without power, 7851 are in Hancock County and 3149 are in Washington County.

Hancock County Emergency Management is reporting that there are downed power lines on Route 3 at the Trenton-Bar Harbor Town lines as of 7AM on Thursday, October 17th.

9:46 AM Update - There were 36,526 Emera Maine customers without power.

Downeast Maine can expect some heavy winds Wednesday night into Thursday, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour on Thursday. With the trees still full of leaves and branches heavy, are you ready if the power goes out?

There will be a brief power outage of approximately 5 minutes for parts of Franklin, Sorrento and Sullivan on Wednesday, September 25th starting at 9AM.

A tree on a line near the Ellsworth-Otis line has resulted in a power outage Downeast Maine, with a little over 2400 people without power Friday afternoon, September 6th.

WDEA's transmitter in Surry currently has no power, as Emera Maine has let us know that a pole top fire has been reported, which has impacted service to Surry residents and businesses.
