Reed Permanent Tremont Town Manager

The Mount Desert Islander is first reporting that Dana Reed, the former Town Manager of Bar Harbor, (1986-2014)  and current Interim Town Manager in Tremont, has been hired permanently as the new Town Manager for Tremont.

Reed, has been the Interim Town Manager, working 3 days a week since last June, when Carl Young resigned. In his new position as permanent Town Manager, he will be paid $85,000 annually. The contract, for two years, goes into effect Saturday, April 4th.

Reed had been applying for other positions, most recently he was a finalist for the City Manager position in Sedona, Arizona.

According to the 2010 census, there were 1,563 people, 723 households, and 440 families residing in the town
