I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Charles Steinberg, Executive Vice President of the Boston Red Sox. While Dr. Steinberg was warm in Florida, at Spring Training, I was here in Brewer, where the windchill was below 0!

We talked about the newly retooled club. You'll be able to hear Dr. Steinberg's take on the offseason moves, adding Pablo Sandoval, replacing 4/5 of the starting rotation and more! We also spoke about the new Red Sox Kid Nation program. Rather than charging an entry fee of as much as $36.95, this year, the base membership will be FREE. In addition to the free membership, children will be offered a free ticket to a regular season game at Fenway Park. The club may limit the free tickets to 25.000 children.

The Boston Red Sox are created a Gate K for kids, an entrance dedicated to children and families near Gate B. The new Gate K will lead to the Kid's Concourse.

In addition, the Red Sox will make tickets available for every home game for all students 15 and older from high school through college . The special tickets will be just $9.00 and they guarantee at the minimum standing room, but may be upgraded to seats when they are available. These $9.00 student tickets are available online. Students will provide information and receive a special code via email to complete the purchase!

The Boston Red Sox begin the 2015 regular season on Monday April 6th at Philadelphia. WDEA AM 1370 is proud to carry the Red Sox to the Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Downeast Maine area for another year. I believe we are the longest continuous Red Sox affiliate in Maine! WDEA will also be carrying the Red Sox spring training games this Saturday and Sunday, against Pittsburgh and Philadelphia at 1 PM.
