The Boston Red Sox had plenty of opportunities to score, but fell to the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night, May 7th by a score of 4-2. The Red Sox were 1-14 with runners in scoring position and left 13 runners on base.

Kutter Crawford started on the mound for the Red Sox and went 6.0 innings, allowing 2 runs and 5 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 2.

Brennan Bernadino and Greg Weissert combined to pitch the 7th innings, holding Atlanta hitless.

Justin Slaten took the loss, allowing 2 runs to score in the 8th inning on 2 hits, striking out and walking 1. He's now 2-1 on the year.

Jarren Duran leading off was 2-5 with a double and his 6th triple of the year.


Tyler O'Neill had a double.

Boston is 19-17 and in 3rd place in the AL East. They are 4.5 games behind the Yankees and Orioles who are tied for 1st place.

The Red Sox and Atlanta Braves play again on Wednesday night, May 7th. Chris Sale will pitch for the Braves and Nick Pivetta is scheduled to come off the Injured List to pitch for the Red Sox. The pregame starts at 6:20 with the 1st pitch at 7:20 on AM 1370 WDEA.
