Part of Bayside Road in Ellsworth Reduced to 1 Lane

The heavy rains from the remnants of Tropical Storm Philippe caused power outages and road washouts throughout Hancock County on Sunday. One of the roads most affected was the Bayside Road in Ellsworth.

The road was closed most of the day while road crews made emergency repairs.Crews were finally able to reopen the road, but the effected area will only be open with one lane. There are portable traffic lights, to allow for alternating traffic. If you do have to travel on this road you should be expecting delays, and the Ellsworth Police Department advises that it will be this way for the future until more repairs are able to completed.
